CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's soccer team was honored as a 2012-13 College Women's Team Academic Award winner by the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) after boasting a 3.44 team grade point average.

The organization made the announcement on Thursday afternoon.

It marks the fifth consecutive year (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) that the program has been recognized for its academics by the NSCAA.

It is the sixth time overall that CSU has made the list, also garnering the award in 2002.

A total of 862 college soccer teams (269 men, 593 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2012-13 academic year.
