Women's Soccer Coach Derrek Falor Resigns

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State Director of Athletics John Parry announced on Tuesday afternoon that head women's soccer coach Derrek Falor has resigned his post after 10 seasons at the helm in order to pursue other challenges in the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family.

Falor's resignation will be effective December 31, 2013.

Falor was hired in February of 2003 and has been the only coach in the history of the program.

"I am so proud to have been chosen not only to start this program back in 2003, but also to have been fortunate enough to have remained on as coach for 11 great years," Falor said. "It has been such a privilege to have worked with a first class staff at Cleveland State over that time. I am a better person now for CSU having given me the chance to lead this program and for that I will always be thankful. I wish the program and department much success in the future."

"Derrek built the CSU women's soccer program from scratch," Parry said. "He recruited outstanding young women who excelled in the classroom and competed hard on the field. We will miss him."

Assistant coach Dallas Boyer will serve as the Interim Head Coach.

A national search for a replacement will begin immediately.
