CSU Closes Regular Season at Wright State

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's soccer team will close the 2013 regular season when the Vikings travel to Wright State for a 7:00 p.m. match on Friday night.

The Vikings enter the final regular season match with an 8-8-1 overall record and have six points in the Horizon League at 2-4. Wright State is 7-5-4 overall and is in second place in the league with 13 points with a 4-1-1 record.

The Vikings are tied for sixth place with Youngstown State in the standings with their six points, but the Penguins currently hold the tiebreaker with a 1-0 win over CSU this year.

Milwaukee leads the standings with 15 points and a 5-1 record with WSU close behind with 13 points. Oakland is third with 12 points (4-2), while Detroit is in fourth place with nine points and Valparaiso fifth with seven points.

YSU and CSU have six points each and Green Bay rounds out the standings with three points.

The top six teams advance to the Horizon League Championship with first round games on Tuesday (Nov. 5) as the No. 3 seed will host the No. 6 seed and the No. 4 seed hosts the No. 5 seed.

The two winners advance to the semifinals which will be played at the site of the top seed, as will the championship game next Sunday (Nov. 10).

CSU dropped a 1-0 match at home to Oakland in its most recent match on Saturday night, while the Raiders have won consecutive 1-0 matches over Milwaukee and Green Bay.
