CLEVELAND, Ohio - Milwaukee scored a goal in each half en route to a 2-0 victory over Cleveland State, handing the Vikings their first loss at Krenzler Field this season.

CSU fell to 7-6-1 overall and 1-2 in the Horizon League this year, while the Panthers improved to 5-7-1 overall and stayed perfect in the league at 3-0.

It marked the first time CSU lost at home this season, dropping the Vikings to 6-1-1 at Krenzler Field.

The Panthers took an early 1-0 lead just 6:09 into the match on Alleina Szydlowski's first goal of the season. Kelsey Holbert took a free kick from about 30 yards out that CSU goalkeeper Sarah Wood saved, but Szydlowski was there to knock in the rebound to give Milwaukee the lead.

It stayed that way until the 62:54 mark when Krissy Dorre tallied her ninth goal of the year, this one also starting off a free kick. Amy Kauffung took the free kick from about 35 yards out that was one-timed by Szydlowski to Dorre who finished to give the Panthers a 2-0 advantage.

The Vikings had two chances to get on the board, but an Allie Sieradzki shot was saved in the 80th minute and Taylor Vidovic had shot hit the post with five minutes left.

Milwaukee outshot CSU, 13-6, and held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Wood made four saves, while Paige Lincicum posted three saves to earn the shutout.

CSU will be back in action on Wednesday (Oct. 16) when the Vikings host Youngstown State at 7:00 p.m.
