Cleveland State Women's Soccer 10-Year Anniversary Team

The Cleveland State women's soccer team is celebrating its 10th anniversary as a program in 2013. Over the last 10 years, many players have helped build the program from the ground up. Throughout the month of September, CSU will celebrate 11 of the top players who have been part of the program. The players will be announced in alphabetical order beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 4, and continue on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the month.

Valerie Stahl was one of the top defenders to ever play in the Cleveland State women's soccer program.

Stahl, who was a key piece of CSU's defense from 2009-12, started all 71 she appeared in, missing just two games in her entire career. Her 71 games played rank 10th in school history, while her 71 career starts are ninth most in program history.

As a junior, Stahl as named to the All-Ohio first team after helping the Viking defense allow a program-low 22 goals. She also tallied two goals, including the game-winner in a victory over Duquese, and an assist.

Stahl, a second team All-Horizon League selection as a sophomore, finished her career with eight career goals and two assists, ranking sixth in school history in goals and seventh in points.
