BUFFALO, N.Y. - Taylor Vidovic and Kelcey Fischer scored goals, but the Cleveland State women's soccer team dropped its first exhibition match of the season at Buffalo, 3-2, on Monday afternoon.

The teams played a full 90 minute match followed by an extra 10 minutes. Head coach Derrek Falor was able to play all of his players in today's match.

"I was very pleased that we were able to play everyone today and give everyone a chance to get some field time," Falor said. "I was very happy with the offense. I thought it was very fluid and we had some great scoring opportunities.

"We need to work on our defensive intensity and be a more gritty, in-your-face team."

Buffalo jumped on the board less than five minutes into the contest when the Viking defense misplayed a ball, allowing the Bulls to score.

CSU responded midway through the first half when sophomore Vickie Havas found Vidovic with a through ball that Vidovic finished with her left foot to knot the match at 1-1.

Buffalo tallied two quick goals to start the second half to make it 3-1.

"We didn't come out with a lot of energy or intensity to start the second half and they took advantage," Falor said.

Fischer added a goal in the extra session to round out the scoring.

CSU concludes its exhibition season on Thursday (Aug. 15) when the Vikings host Niagara at 4:00 p.m. at Krenzler Field.
