BUFFALO, N.Y. - Playing for the first time in a week, the Cleveland State women's soccer team closed out its four-match road swing with a 3-0 setback at Canisius on Sunday afternoon.

The loss drops CSU to 2-3 this season as the Vikings finish their roadtrip with a 2-2 mark. Canisius improved to 1-4.

"If you take a look at the final stats, we had 19 shots to their 12," head coach Derrek Falor said. "But we only managed five shots on goal. We also had seven corner kicks to their two, but couldn't manage to take advantage of those. Right now, it's coming down to us not doing the little things that it takes to win matches and we have to find a way to improve upon that."

Canisius got on the board with just over six minutes to play in the first half when Brooke Bandazian took a pass from Kelly McMahon and fired a shot from the top of the 18-yard box for a goal.

The Golden Griffs added a pair of second half tallies in the 60th and 80th minutes to provide the final margin.

Vickie Havas and Taylor Vidovic both had five shots for the Vikings, while Sarah Wood made four saves in goal. 

The Vikings will be back in action on Friday (Sept. 7) when CSU hosts Akron at 7:00 p.m. at Krenzler Field. It will be the Vikings first home match since the season opener against Kent State on Aug. 17.
