CLEVELAND, Ohio - Vickie Havas scored her third goal of the season and added an assist as the Cleveland State women's soccer team defeated Longwood, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at Krenzler Field.

CSU, which snapped a four-match losing streak, improved to 3-5 this season while Longwood fell to 5-3.

The Vikings jumped on the board early, using an Erin O'Toole goal just 9:25 into the match to take a 1-0 lead. O'Toole knocked in a loose ball in front of the goal off a corner kick from Havas.

It was the first time this year that the Vikings scored first.

CSU took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but the Lancers would tie the contest at 1-1 at the 55:06 mark when Nikki Glisson blasted a shot from 18 yards out that beat CSU keeper Sarah Wood to the far post. Taylor Cave assisted on the play.

But the Vikings came right back 10 minutes later as Chloe Fadenholz gathered a loose ball about 20 yards out and sent a shot into the upper right corner of the goal that gave the Vikings a 2-1 lead.

It was her second goal of the season.

The Vikings added an insurance tally with just under 10 minutes to play in the contest to provide the final margin.

Frederike Dubeau started the play when she cleared a ball past midfield to Taylor Vidovic who took a few touches and played a through ball to Havas.

Havas was able to gather it and beat her defender into the box, getting shot on frame that beat Longwood's Shelby Hall.

For Havas, it was her third goal of the season, tying her for the most on the squad this year.

Wood finished with two saves for the Vikings, while Hall made six.

The Vikings are back in action on Friday (Sept. 21) when CSU opens Horizon League play at 8:00 p.m. EST at Loyola.
