CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State freshman Vickie Havas (Stow, Ohio) has been selected as the Horizon League Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 10-16.

Havas earned the award after tallying a goal and an assist in CSU's lone match last week, a 3-1 win over Longwood on Sunday (Sept. 16).

For Havas, it is the first time she has captured the award in her career. She is also the second Viking to win the award this year, joining senior Jaime Avona who was honored on Aug. 20 after her hat trick at IUPUI.

"This is a well deserved honor for Vickie after the way she played on Sunday," head coachDerrek Falor said. "She has done a great job all season of finding her spaces and is one of those forwards where she can find a little gap here or there and turns on the jets when she needs to. She reads the game very well for a freshman and finds space and is pretty lethal in front of the net."

Havas assisted on CSU's first goal against Longwood, sending in a corner kick that Erin O'Toole knocked in. She also scored CSU's final goal of the match.

Havas is now tied for the Horizon League lead in points (10) and assists (4) and is tied for second with three goals.
