    THE OPENING KICK The Cleveland State women's soccer team will close out the regular season this weekend, traveling to Milwaukee for a Friday night contest. CSU's contest against the Panthers is slated for an 8:00 p.m. EST start at Engelmann Stadium. The Vikings dropped their lone contest last week, to fall to 6-10 overall and 2-4 in the Horizon League. Milwaukee enters the week with a 5-8-1 overall mark and a 4-2-0 record in league play. The Panthers are currently tied for first place in the league standings, having won three of their last four league contests.

    THE OPENING KICK The Cleveland State women's soccer team returns home for its regular season finale at Krenzler Field when the Vikings host Wright State on Saturday (Oct. 20) at 4:00 p.m. The Vikings dropped a pair of road contests last week to fall to 5-10 overall and 1-4 in the Horizon League. Last week opened with a 2-1 setback at Youngstown State on Wednesday (Oct. 10) before the Vikings fell at Detroit, 2-0, on Sunday (Oct. 14). Wright State enters the week with a 6-3-6 overall mark and 1-1-3 in league play. Last week, the Raiders were 0-1-1 in two home matches, falling to Detroit, 1-0, and playing to a scoreless tie with Valparaiso.

    THE OPENING KICK The Cleveland State women's soccer team hits the road for two key Horizon League road matches this week, starting with a 7:00 p.m. match at Youngstown State on Wednesday (Oct. 10). The Vikings then travel to Detroit for a 1:00 p.m. contest on Sunday (Oct. 14). CSU won both of its matches last week to improve to 5-8 overall and 1-2 in league play, good for three points. Youngstown State is 6-5 overall and 1-1 in the Horizon League, while the Titans begin the week at 5-6-1 overall and tied for first place in the league with six points at 2-2. Valparaiso and Milwaukee also have six points.

The Vikings start the week with a 5:00 p.m. match against Green Bay on Wednesday (Oct. 3). It will be a doubleheader with the CSU men hosting Belmont at 2:00 p.m. The week concludes for the Vikings with a 1:00 p.m. match against Francis Marion on Saturday (Oct. 6) in a Senior Day match. CSU enters the week with a 3-8 overall record and an 0-2 mark in the Horizon League after dropping a 2-1 decision at home to Valparaiso in the Vikings lone match last week. Green Bay is 3-7-1 overall and 0-1-1 in Horizon League play, while Francis Marion is 5-5-1 this season.

CSU dropped road contests at Loyola and Duquesne last weekend to slip to 3-7 overall and 0-1 in league play, while Valparaiso enters the contest at 6-3-1 overall after splitting two matches in California last weekend. The Crusaders, who will be playing their first league match of the season, have allowed just six goals this year and all six of their wins have come via shutout.

    THE OPENING KICK The Cleveland State women's soccer team returns to action with just one match this week when the Vikings host Longwood at Krenzler Field on Sunday (Sept. 16) at 1:00 p.m. CSU enters the week at 2-5 overall, having lost four straight contests, including a 2-1 setback at Ohio in its most recent match on Sunday (Sept. 9). Longwood is 4-2 this season and has won three of its last four contests, including a 1-0 win over UMBC on Sunday (Sept. 9). The Lancers host East Tennessee State on Friday. This will be just the second all-time meeting between the two schools with Longwood defeating CSU last season, 1-0.

    THE OPENING KICK The Cleveland State women's soccer team concludes its four match road trip when the Vikings travel to Canisius on Sunday (Sept. 2) for a 4:00 p.m. contest in CSU's lone match of the week. The Vikings enter the contest with a 2-2 record after splitting a pair of matches on the road last weekend, defeating IUPUI, 5-1, before falling in overtime at Eastern Illinois, 3-2. Canisius is 0-3 this season, having been outscored 8-0 in the three matches, and will host Youngstown State on Friday before the Vikings come to to town. CSU is 1-3 all-time against Canisius, defeating the Griffs, 3-1, in 2010.
