Cleveland State Women’s Golf Second at YSU Spring Invitational

Youngstown, OH-The Cleveland State women's golf team competed for the second time this week with a one-day 18-hole event at Youngstown Country Club. The Vikings finished second overall in the three-team competition with a 39-over par 323 team total. Host Youngstown State won the event with a 307, and Saint Francis finished third at 331. 

Sabrina Coffman notched a second consecutive top-10 finish with a 8-over 79. Cold temperatures made for difficult scoring conditions throughout the day. 

Mandie Ruminski also finished in the top-10 placing eighth with a 9-over par round of 80. Ruminski made three birdies on the day which tied for the most in the field and led the field in par-3 scoring average finishing 2-under on the par-3 holes in her round. 

Abby Blackburn was one shot behind with a 10-over 81 to finish tied for ninth place. Lexi Knight and Olivia Swain were each tied for 13th carding rounds of 12-over 83. Brynna Mardis finished with a 13-over par score to finish tied for 17th with an 84. 

The Vikings will next compete at the Lady Jaguar Invite next weekend, April 15th and 16th in Carmel, Indiana.
