
Port Clinton, OH-The Cleveland State women's golf team sits in 11th place after Day 1 of the Rocket Classic at Catawba Island Club. The Vikings carded a first round 343(+55) and improved upon that total with a 340(+52) in the second round, for a total of 683(+107).
Rutgers currently leads the 11 team field with a total of 604(+28).
Individually, Sabrina Coffman and Mandie Ruminski led the way for the Vikings. Coffman shot 9-over par 81 in the first round, and then added an 86 in the second round. Ruminski shot 86(+14) in the first round and improved on that score with an 81 in the second round. She started the back nine with a birdie on the par 5 10th hole, which led to a 40 on the back side. Both sit in a tie for 39th place at 23 over par.
Other Viking competitors include: Olivia Swain(49th place, +29), Lexi Knight(T-53, +32), and Abby Blackburn(58th, +61). Brynna Mardis, competing unattached, is in 55th place at 33 over par.
The third and final round of the tournament is set for tomorrow at 9 a.m.
