Riggs Adds Jakins on National Signing Day

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State Women's Golf Head Coach Taylor Riggs has announced the signing of Alex Jakins to the team's 2021-22 roster.

"I'm very excited that we were able to add Alex to our golf family," said Riggs. "Alex is a powerful player out of England who has improved rapidly in all facets of her game. I look forward to her joining us and competing for the Vikings in the near future. 

Jakins is currently a senior at Gordons School in West End, England. The 5-5 righty was part of the school's ISGA national championship team in 2020, in addition to being part of the program's 2019 Millfield European Schools championship. 

A member of the England regional team, Jakins is currently ranked 626 in the European golf rankings. The newest Viking finished first place at the Junior Millennium Cup (73, +1), second place at the England Junior Team Regional Championship (76, +5) and third place at the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Qualifier (78, +5). 

The Frimley, England native is the daughter of Graeme and Stella.
