Neumeister and Butler Named Second Team All-Horizon League

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Cleveland State sophomore Kaylee Neumeister and freshman Madison Butler were both named to the All-Horizon League Second Team at Saturday nights banquet on the eve of the Horizon League Championship.

This is the second straight season Neumeister has earned all-league honors after being named to the first team last year, while Butler is making her first appearance on the all-league team.

Neumeister leads team and ranks fifth in Horizon League with a 78.6 scoring average this year. She has competed in all 20 rounds this year, firing the low round of the season for CSU and tied for low round by a League player with a 70 in first round of Ball State Invitational (Sept. 18). Her career scoring average of 78.3 is tops in school history.

Butler has been one of the top freshman in the Horizon League this year with a 78.9 scoring average, ninth best in League. Her average is currently the second lowest for a freshman in program history. Butler has played in 19 of the 20 rounds this year and opened her collegiate career with rounds of 72-77 (149) to win the Roseann Schwartz Invitational (Sept. 4-5).

The Vikings begin play in the Horizon League Championship on Sunday with the second round on Monday and the final round on Tuesday. Last year, CSU captured the first League title in school history.
