Vikings Return to action at Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team returns to action for the first time in a month when the Vikings compete at the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate from Saturday through Monday (March 24-26) at the par-72, 6,006-yard DeBary Golf and Country Club in DeBary, Fla.

The Vikings will be joined in the field by host Stetson, Albany, Bethune-Cookman, Boston University, Butler, Florida Atlantic, Quinnipiac, Saint Leo, Seminole State, Wisconsin-Whitewater and Xavier.

Livestats will be available on Golfstat.

Teams will have tee times on Saturday with the Vikings teeing off between 11:44 am and 12:16 pm. Teams will be paired based on standings for Sunday's second round with the top-three teams teeing off first, while Monday's final round will feature a shotgun start.

The Vikings have been out of action since finishing tied for 13th place at the Grand Canyon Invitational on Feb. 24-25. After an opening round 322, CSU rallied to shoot 316 and 308 to conclude the event. Senior Emily Turski was CSU's top finisher, tying for 47th place with a 235 total. She opened with rounds of 81-80 and shot a final round 74.

Sophomore Kaylee Neumeister paces the Vikings this year with a 77.4 scoring average, which ranks fourth in the Horizon League, while freshman Madison Butler is eighth in the League with a 78.6 average.

The Vikings have three others among the top-16 in the League as senior Sophie Kelner is 12th at 79.1, while freshman Amanda Baker is 15th at 79.6 and freshman Ashley Knight ranks 16th at 79.8. Turski has posted an 80.9 average this year and is one of four players who have rounds of par or better this year.

CSU has a 312.1 scoring average this year, which is more than five shots better than the single season school record of 317.2 set last year.

CSU is back in action at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on April 7-8.
