CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team will compete in the Grand Canyon Invitational on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 24-25) at the par-71 GCU Golf Course in Phoenix, Ariz.

In addition to CSU and host Grand Canyon, the field includes Horizon League member Oakland as well as Montana State, Portland State, Northern Colorado, South Dakota State, Montana, Creighton, Seattle, Eastern Washington, Southern Illinois, CSU-Bakersfield and Utah Valley.

Teams will play 36 holes on Saturday with the final 18 holes on Sunday. Both days will feature 8:00 am shotgun starts and livestats will be available on Golfstat.

The Vikings opened the spring season at the Motor City Cup in Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 5-6, finishing in second place with 24 points, just one point behind Oakland in the match play format.

Sophomore Kaylee Neumeister - a first team All-Horizon League selection last year - led the team with a 76.6 scoring average in the fall, which included the lowest round by a CSU player with a 70 at Ball State. Freshman Madison Butler posted a 78.4 average in the fall and won the season opening Roseann Schwartz Invitational in September.

Senior Sophie Kelner had a 78.5 average and was the teams top finisher at the Ball State Invitational, while freshmen Amanda Baker (79.6) and Ashley Knight (80.4), senior Emily Turski (81.3) and sophomore Brooke Ciccone (88.0) rounded out CSU's lineup.

CSU shot a school record low round of 292 in the first round of the Ball State Invitational in September.

The Vikings resume the spring schedule at the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate in Florida from March 24-26.
