Grace Zimmerman Signs NLI With Women's Golf Program

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Grace Zimmerman (Bruce Township, Mich.), a four-time first team all-league selection during her high school career, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Cleveland State women's golf program, beginning in the fall of 2018. Head coach Steve Weir made the announcement on Monday.

Zimmerman was a four-year letterwinner at Almont HS, leading the team to three consecutive top-seven finishes at the state tournament. As a sophomore, Zimmerman helped the team to a seventh place finish. The team then finished fifth her junior year and third in the state during her senior campaign.

A team captain for all four years in high school, Zimmerman was named the league MVP three times. She earned first team all-state honors as a senior after finishing as the runner-up at the state tournament and leading the team to the regional title. As a junior, she was named to the honorable mention all-state team.

Zimmerman competed at the state tournament all four years, playing as an individual as a freshman and leading the squad to the state tournament in each of her last three years. She was the conference champion as a senior, carding a 79 to win medalist honors.

The CSU women's golf team opens the spring season at the Grand Canyon Invitational on Feb. 24-25.
