Vikings Conclude Fall Season at Shirley Spork Invitational

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Cleveland State women's golf team shot a final round 326 and finished eighth out of 10 teams at the Shirley Spork Invitational that concluded on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,127 yard Eagle Crest GC.

The event, which was hosted by Eastern Michigan, was the final one of the fall campaign for the Vikings.

Freshman Amanda Baker was CSU's top finisher as she tied for 18th place with rounds of 74-78-82 (234). Sophomore Kaylee Neumeister tied for 24th at 236 (73-82-81), while freshman Madison Butler shot 78-79-83 (240) and tied for 35th place.

Senior Sophie Kelner shot 85-76-80 (241) and tied for 39th place, while senior Emily Turski tied for 52nd place (82-85-86 - 253).

Freshman Ashley Knight tied for 31st place as an individual, carding rounds of 83-76-80 (239).

Marshall won the team title with an 896 total, while Bowling Green was the runner-up at 912. Western Michigan was third at 917 and was followed by Oakland (932), Eastern Michigan (933), Ohio (934), Dayton (942), Cleveland State (948), Central Michigan (955) and Youngstown State (998).

CSU is slated to open the spring season at the Grand Canyon Invitational on Feb. 24-25 in Arizona.
