YORKTOWN, Ind. - The Cleveland State women's golf team shot a final round 320 and finished 11th of 19 teams at the Cardinal Classic that concluded on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,204 yard The Players Club. Today's final round was delayed by about 90 minutes due to rain in the area.
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Sophie Kelner tied for 12th place to lead the Vikings. Kelner carded a final round 77 today after back-to-back rounds of even-par 72 on Monday for a 54-hole total of 221.
- Kelner led the field in par three scoring with a 2.44 average, playing the holes in five-under-par.
- Sophomore Kaylee Neumeister tied Kelner for low round on the team today with a 77 and finished tied for 29th at 225 (70-78-77).
- Neumeister played the par five's in four-under-par as her 4.56 average on the par five's was tied for second best in the field.
- Kelner and Neumeister both made 10 birdies in the tournament, tied for fourth best.
- Senior Emily Turski tied for 49th place with rounds of 77-71-82 (230), while freshman Madison Butler tied for 66th at 235 (73-78-84). Freshman Amanda Baker shot 81-78-84 (243) and was 91st.
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- CSU led the field in par three scoring with a 3.09 average for the tournament.
- The Vikings were also second in par five scoring at 4.91, playing the holes in four-under-par.
- CSU combined for 33 birdies over the three rounds, which was third most in the field.
- The Vikings opened the tournament on Monday with a school record round of 292 and shot a 299 in the afternoon - the third lowest round in school history - for a 36 hole total of 591.

- The Vikings are back in action on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 23-24) at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich.
