CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team earned a spot on the Women's Golf Coaches Association top-25 All-Scholar Team GPA list that was announced on Wednesday.
The Vikings checked in at No. 16 on the list with a team cumulative GPA of 3.763.
CSU, which was the lone Horizon League school on the list, joined North Florida (No. 5), Denver (No. 21) and New Mexico State (No. 25) as the only four teams on the top-25 academic team GPA to advance to the 2017 NCAA regionals.
The award recognizes the women's collegiate golf programs with the highest collective average team GPA which includes all of the team's student-athletes for the 2016-17 season.
The women's golf team also captured the "Best of the Best" Award at the John Konstantinois Academic Honors Luncheon in April for having the highest GPA among all teams at CSU.
The Vikings won the first Horizon League Championship in program history in April to advance to the NCAA regionals.
