COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team opened play in the NCAA Columbus Regional on Monday at the par-72, 6,416-yard Scarlet Course on a cold, windy day. The opening round was delayed by 90 minutes due to frost.

The Vikings, playing in the regionals for the first time in school history after winning the Horizon League Championship two weeks ago, shot an opening round 340 and are in 18th place.

Sophie Kelner led the Vikings with a first round 81 and is tied for 65th place. Kelner made 12 pars today, tied for fourth most in the field.

Rayna Oosterhuis shot an 83 and is tied for 77th, while Kayle Neumeister is tied for 84th after an 85. Ellie Cronin is 95th after a 91, while Emily Turski shot 93 and is 96th.

The Vikings will continue play in the NCAA Columbus Regional on Tuesday (May 9) with the second round. CSU will tee off on the 10th tee beginning at 9:09 am and will be paired with Old Dominion and Kentucky.

The Columbus Regional features six teams ranked in GolfStat's top-25 rankings and 12 who are ranked in the top-44.
