HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Cleveland State women's golf team shot a final round 307 and captured the first Horizon League Championship in program history on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,031-yard Las Colinas at Mission Inn Resort.

By virtue of winning the League title, CSU advances to the NCAA Regionals, which will run from May 8-10 in Athens, Ga., Columbus, Ohio, Lubbock, Texas and Albuquerque, N.M.

The selection show is slated for Thursday (April 27) at 11:00 am on the Golf Channel.

The Vikings opened the tournament with a round of 319, but used a tournament-low round of 302 on Monday to vault into first place heading into the final round. Four teams - CSU, Northern Kentucky, Youngstown State and Oakland - were within four shots of the lead heading into the final 18 holes and traded the top spot of the leaderboard throughout the day.

But in the end, the Vikings final round of 307 helped CSU top YSU by three shots. Northern Kentucky was third at 935, while Oakland was fourth at 938. 

Valparaiso finished fifth at 960 and was followed by Detroit Mercy (965), UIC (989) and Green Bay (993).

Sophomore Rayna Oosterhuis concluded a strong three days with a final round 75 to finish as the runner-up at the League tournament with a 54-hole total of 223 (74-74-75). She birdied three of her final seven holes, including the 16th hole, which helped CSU take the lead late.

Her first two rounds of 74 were career-best rounds.

Oosterhuis earned a spot on the all-tournament team.

Freshman Kaylee Neumeister finished sixth overall in her first League tournament, shooting 76-77-78 (231). A member of the All-Horizon League first team, Neumeister eagled the par-5, 18th hole, playing in the second to last group of the day.

Freshman Ellie Cronin, also had a strong showing in her first League tournament, shooting 83-76-77 (236) to tie for 11th place.

Junior Emily Turski rebounded from an opening round 91 to shoot 75-77 over the final two days and tied for 20th place with a 243 total, while junior Sophie Kelner shot 86-82-80 (248) and tied for 27th place.

Turski, Oosterhuis and Cronin tied for the lead with 33 pars over the course of the tournament, while Oosterhuis was second with nine birdies.
