Oosterhuis Cards Career-Low 74 to Open League Championship; CSU in Fourth Place

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Rayna Oosterhuis shot a career-low 74 and is in third place after the opening round of the Horizon League Championship on Sunday at the Mission Inn Resort.

Oosterhuis' round helped the Vikings to a 319 and put CSU in fourth place after day one. Northern Kentucky is in first place after a 304, while Oakland (312) and Youngstown State (315) are ahead of the Vikings.

Valparaiso and UIC are tied for fifth at 324, while Detroit Mercy (327) and Green Bay (342) round out the field.

Oosterhuis birdied her first hole of the tournament en route to a two-over-par 37 on the front nine. She used a birdie and bogey on the back nine for an even-par 37. Her 12 pars today were tied for the second most in the field, while Oosterhuis also played the par-four's in even-par, best in the field.

Freshman Kaylee Neumeister is tied for fifth place after an opening round 76 that included a pair of birdies and an even-par 37 on the inward nine. Her 11 pars were tied for third most in the field.

As a team, the Vikings led all teams with 48 pars today.

Ellie Cronin shot 83 and is tied for 25th place, while Sophie Kelner is tied for 29th after an 86 and Emily Turski is 36th following a 91.

The second round of the League Championship will be played on Monday morning.
