Vikings Travel to Dolores Black Falcon Invitational This Weekend

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team will compete in the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on Saturday and Sunday (April 8-9).

The event, hosted by Bowling Green, will be played at the par-72, 5,960-yard Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio.

In addition to CSU and BGSU, the field includes Central Michigan, Ferris State, Findlay, Lawrence Technological University, Oakland, Ohio, Detroit Mercy and UIC.

The field will play 18 holes on Saturday with tee times off the first and 10th tees with the final 18 holes on Sunday with a shotgun start. CSU will tee off the first tee between 9:00 am and 9:45 am on Saturday with Bowling Green.

The Vikings were last in action at the EKU Colonel Classic last weekend, placing 11th. CSU opened the event with rounds of 325 and 341 on Friday before carding a 301 in Saturday's final round. The 301 was the second lowest round in school history and was done with the Vikings playing with just four golfers.

Kaylee Neumesiter and Sophie Kelner both shot rounds of 73, the second lowest final round, while Ellie Cronin carded a 77 and Rayna Oosterhuis had a 78. The group did not make anything worse than a bogey in the final round.

Neumeister was CSU's top finisher, tying for 26th place with a 54-hole total of 235 (79-83-73), while Oosterhuis tied for 37th place at 239 (77-84-78).

Neumeister leads the team with a 77.3 scoring average, while Kelner is second at 78.8. Cronin has posted a 79.8 average in her first season, while Oosterhuis (81.4) and Emily Turski (81.8) round out CSU's lineup.

The Vikings will be back in action at the Horizon League Championship which runs from April 23-25 at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
