Vikings Remain in Sixth Place at Cardinal Classic

BEAUMONT, Texas - Ellie Cronin shot a second round 75 and Cleveland State remained in sixth place at the Cardinal Challenge after shooting a second round 309 on Saturday afternoon at the par-71, 6,008-yard Beaumont CC in Beaumont, Texas.

The Vikings took nine strokes off yesterday's first round 318 and have a 36 hole total of 627. Host Lamar leads the event with a 36 hole total of 592 and is followed by Bradley and Southern Illinois (615), UT-Rio Grande Valley (622), Indiana State (623), CSU (627), Fairleigh Dickinson (628), Detroit Mercy (646) and Prairie View A&M (762).

Cronin's rounds of 75 was tied for the third lowest round of the day and she moved up to 17th place in the field with a 156 total (81-75). Emily Turski followed her first round 77 with an 80 and is tied for 18th place at 157, while Rayna Oosterhuis is one shot behing with a 158 total (79-79) and is tied for 21st.

Sophie Kelner is in 24th place at 159 (81-78), while Kaylee Neumeister is tied for 26th place after rounds of 84-77 (161).

The final round of the tournament will be played on Sunday.
