
PORTAGE, Mich. - The Cleveland State women's golf team shot a final round 316 and tied for fourth place at the Kzoo Classic that concluded on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,163 yard The Moors Course.
TEAM NOTES
• The Vikings opened the tournament on Monday with rounds of 305 and 310 and were in fourth place after 36-holes.
• CSU has four top-four finishes in four events this year, including a team win at the Golden Grizzlies Invitational last week.
• CSU finished tied for second in the field, posting a 4.42 scoring average on par-four's.
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
• Junior Sophie Kelner finished in sixth place, shooting a 54-hole total of 226. Kelner shot rounds of 75-74-77 and now has three top-10 finishes in four events this fall.
• Kelner played the par-five's in even-par during the tournament and was one-over-par on the par-three's. Her eighth birdies over the 54-holes ranked second in the field.
• Freshman Kaylee Neumeister placed 11th with rounds of 70-78-81 (229). Her opening round 70 was the third lowest round in school history and the lowest round of the tournament.
• Ellie Cronin made 13 pars in today's final round, the second most by any player in the field.
UP NEXT
• CSU concludes the fall season on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 10-11) at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational. The event will be played at the Youngstown CC.
