Vikings in Second Place After First Round of Golden Grizzlies Invitational

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Cleveland State women's golf team shot an opening round 317 and is in second place out of eight teams at the Golden Grizzlies Invitational that began on Monday. CSU will enter Tuesday's final round just two shots back of host Oakland which shot a first round 315.

FORE THINGS TO KNOW
• The Vikings have three players in the top-seven and all five players among the top-17 in the 50 player field.
Rayna Oosterhuis made two birdies on the back-nine en route to shooting a two-over par 38.
• Sophie Kelner and Kaylee Neumeister both fired one-over-par 37 on the back nine as both players made eight pars and one bogey.
• Oakland and CSU are followed in the team standings by Youngstown State (325), Detroit (332), Green Bay (334), UIC (340), Wayne State (345) and Niagara (346).

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
• Junior Sophie Kelner and sophomore Rayna Oosterhuis both shot first round 78's and are tied for third place.
• The duo is just two shots behind Youngstown State's Reva Morris and Oakland's Kylee Sullivan who share the first round lead at 76.
• Freshman Kaylee Neumeister shot an opening round 79 and is tied for seventh place, while freshman Ellie Cronin shot 82 and is tied for 14th place. Junior Emily Turski carded an 83 and is tied for 17th place.
• Kelner made eight straight pars after and opening bogey. Cronin concluded her round with pars on six of her last seven holes.

The Vikings will play the final round of the Golden Grizzlies Invitational on Tuesday morning.
