CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State head golf coach Steve Weir has announced the signing of Brooke Ciccone (Cape Coral, Fla.) to a National Letter of Intent to attend CSU and play golf.

Ciccone will have four years of eligibility with the Vikings.

A News-Press Golfer of the Year finalist in each of her final three seasons, Ciccone tied for third at the LCAC and shot a 76 to finish second at the District 2A-20 tournament.

The 2014 Golfer of the Year, this year's award will be announced on June 7.

She guided Cape Coral to its second straight district team title this year, posting a scoring average of 39 for nine holes. Her 79 at Port Charlotte Golf Club clinched a spot in the state tournament where she tied for 36th.

In 2013, Ciccone won a three-way, two-hole playoff to claim second place in the district tournament, advancing her to the regional tournament.

She plans to major in chemical engineering.
