INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Following a career-high night at Northern Kentucky last time out, Cleveland State women's basketball sophomore Destiny Leo has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week. This marks the first weekly honor for the Vikings this season.
In Cleveland State's lone game of the week, Leo posted a career-high 31 points on an 11-for-15 performance from the field against the Norse. This marked Leo's fifth 20+ point game of the year and her second game with at least 30 points this season.
Leo, who also went 4-for-7 from behind-the-arc on the night, currently leads the Horizon League averaging 24.2 points per game, while also sitting at the top of the standings with 3.5 three-pointers per game.
Against the Norse, Leo also added three steals, two assists, two rebounds, and one blocked shot.
Leo and the Vikings are off to a perfect 8-0 start to the season (including two forfeit wins), while they are also undefeated in league play standing at 4-0 (including two forfeit wins).
