Vikings Fall To Milwaukee, 69-63 On Senior Day

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team hosted its final game in the Wolstein Center during the 2017-18 season Saturday afternoon, with the Vikings dropping a 69-63 contest against Milwaukee. Heading into the final week of regular season play, Cleveland State owns an 18-9 overall record and a 10-6 mark in Horizon League play.

Game Stats
· Khayla Livingston led the Viking offense with 25 points, while Olivia Voskuhl finished with 14.
· Olivia Voskuhl and Khayla Livingston both grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.
· Khayla Livingston and Jade Ely posted three assists each on the game.
· Cleveland State was able to force Milwaukee into 15 turnovers, recording 15 points off Panther miscues.

Game Notes
· Cleveland State started its five seniors Saturday, with Sierra Davidson, Khayla Livingston, Olivia Voskuhl, Mercedes Hobbs and Shadae Bosley on the court for tipoff.
· This marked the final home game of the 2017-18 season for the Vikings, with Cleveland State finishing the year with a 10-4 mark when playing in the Wolstein Center.
· Khayla Livingston recorded her 11th 20-point game of the season with 25 points against Milwaukee.

The Game
After a strong first half, the Vikings held a 10-point lead at the halftime break, starting the third quarter with a 29-19 advantage. The lead wouldn't last long though, as Milwaukee went on an 18-6 run over the first part of the third frame, gaining a 37-35 advantage at the 4:22 mark. This marked the first lead for the Panthers since midway through the first quarter.

Milwaukee went on to hold the lead for the rest of the third quarter then, going into the final 10 minutes of play with a 50-42 advantage.

The Panthers were able to hold a double-digit advantage throughout the majority of the fourth quarter, until a Khayla Livingston defensive rebound led to an and-one play on the other end of the court to bring the Vikings back within seven points at 58-51 with 4:16 left to play.

Although Milwaukee was able to extend its lead once again on the next few possessions, Cleveland State slowly worked its way back into the contest over the next four minutes, as the Vikings went on a 12-1 run to come within three points at 66-63 following a Jade Ely layup with just 14 seconds left on the clock.

The Vikings were then forced to foul on the next Milwaukee possession, where the Panthers converted both free throws, regaining a 68-63 advantage. Although the Vikings had another look on the offensive end of the ball on their next possession, they weren't able to convert, with Milwaukee eventually coming away with the 69-63 victory.

· With her 25 points against the Panthers, Khayla Livingston became the 10th Viking all-time to eclipse the 1,400-point mark, finishing the game with 1,421.
