Livingston Sets Single-Game 3-Point Record With Career-High 36 Points In Win Over UDM

DETROIT, Mich. – Behind a career-high 36 points – including a program record nine three-pointers – from redshirt senior Khayla Livingston, the Cleveland State women's basketball team picked up its third straight victory Thursday evening, earning a 90-76 victory at Detroit Mercy. With the win, the Vikings improve to 15-7 overall this season and 7-4 in Horizon League play.

· Khayla Livingston led the Viking offense with 36 points, while Ashanti Abshaw added 27 points and Olivia Voskuhl notched 14.

· Mariah Miller notched her second double-digit rebound game of the season, finishing with 10 boards.
· The Vikings have now won three straight and four of their last five contests.
· With Thursday's win, Cleveland State recorded the season sweep of the Titans.
· Since starting the second half of #HLWBB play, the Vikings own a perfect 2-0 record.

The Game
After a high-scoring first quarter, the Vikings had a 28-23 lead heading into the second frame. Detroit Mercy was then able to convert a three-pointer on one of its first possessions of the quarter to bring the game within two points, but the Vikings responded with a 10-0 run, regaining a 38-26 advantage at the 6:39 mark. This lead wouldn't last long though, as Detroit Mercy outscored the Vikings 14-2 over the final part of the frame, putting the score at 40-40 heading into the halftime break.

To start the second half, Cleveland State posted 10 straight points, including a pair of three-pointers from Khayla Livingston, gaining a double-digit lead at 50-40 less than two minutes into the third quarter. The Vikings were then able to hold a sizeable advantage for the rest of the frame, and closed out the quarter with another Livingston three-pointer to take a 71-59 lead into the final 10 minutes of action.

The Vikings then went on to hold a double-digit lead for the majority of the fourth quarter, closing out the contest with a 90-76 victory to improve to 15-7 overall this season and 7-4 in Horizon League action.

CSU Career Record Book
· With nine three-pointers on the game, Khayla Livingston became just the second Viking all-time to eclipse the 200 mark for their career, ending the game with 208.
· Ashanti Abshaw moved into seventh place on the CSU Scoring Chart with 1,468 career points after posting 27 against the Titans.
· Khayla Livingston became the 12th Viking all-time to eclipse the 1,300-point mark on their career, finishing the game with 1,306 total points.
