Voskuhl Named #HLWBB Player Of The Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After leading the Cleveland State women's basketball team to a pair of Horizon League victories last week, redshirt senior Olivia Voskuhl has been named the #HLWBB Player of the Week. This marks the first weekly honor for Voskuhl and the first weekly accolade for the Vikings this season.

Last time out, Voskuhl led the Vikings to a 2-0 start to league play, as Cleveland State picked up a 70-62 victory over Oakland and a 75-50 victory over Detroit Mercy. On the season, the Vikings stand at 10-3 overall and are off to their best start under head coach Kate Peterson Abiad.

During last week's #HLWBB contests, Voskuhl averaged a team-best 20.0 points per game, posting 19 points against Oakland and a career-high 21 against Detroit Mercy. Voskuhl recorded a .692 field goal percentage on the week, including a 10-for-13 performance against UDM on a .769 clip.

Voskuhl also led the rebounding efforts last week, averaging 7.0 boards per game, while also notching five steals, two assists and one blocked shot.

For the season, Voskuhl is averaging a career-best 13.6 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game, ranking in the top-10 among league players in both categories.

For her career, Voskuhl ranks in two rebounding categories in the CSU Career Record Book, ranking 19th with 546 total rebounds and eighth with 422 defensive boards. The Elsmere, Kentucky native is also closing in on the 1,000-point mark for her career, currently owning 866 career points with at least 17 games left to play this season. 

Voskuhl and the Vikings will continue Horizon League play this week, hosting IUPUI (Thursday, January 4) and UIC (Saturday, January 6) to close out their current four-game homestand.
