Vikings Fall At Toledo, 65-56

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team saw its current winstreak come to end Saturday, as the Vikings dropped a 65-56 contest at Toledo. The Vikings now stand at 6-3 on the season and have two more non-league matchups on the slate.

· Olivia Voskuhl led the Viking offense with 15 points against Toledo, while Shadae Bosley added 11 and Jade Ely posted 10.

The Game
After a back-and-forth first quarter, the Vikings went into the second period trailing 15-13, but a strong start to the frame from the Vikings gave Cleveland State their first lead of the contest at the 6:04 mark. Over the first part of the quarter the Vikings outscored Toledo 10-4, and used a 7-0 run to gain a 23-19 advantage. During this run, four of Cleveland State's points came from the free throw line, as Rachel Slaney, Khayla Livingston and Mariah White combined to go 4-for-5 from the line.

Toledo responded with an 8-2 run, but a pair of baskets from Livingston and Shadae Bosley over the final minute of the half gave the Vikings a 29-27 lead at halftime.

This lead wouldn't last long into the third quarter though, as Toledo used a 13-0 run over the opening 4:26 to regain a 40-29 advantage midway through the third quarter. The Vikings were able to stop the Rocket run with a pair of Bosley layups, and then posted a 7-2 run to close the gap to 42-40 at the 3:37 mark, but another Toledo run to close out the frame put the Vikings down by eight at 52-44 heading into the final 10 minutes of action.

The two teams traded baskets over the first part of the final quarter, until an 8-0 run from Toledo put the Rockets back up by double-digits at 65-48 with just over two minutes left to play. The Rockets were then able to close out the contest, earning the 65-56 victory.

CSU Career Record Book
· With two assists against Toledo, Khayla Livingston moved into 10th place in the CSU Career Record Book with 311 career helpers.
