Livingston Tallies 1,000th Career Point As Vikings Fall To Saint Louis

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – With an 18-point performance against Saint Louis Friday evening, Cleveland State women's basketball redshirt senior Khayla Livingston recorded her 1,000th career point in a Viking uniform. Despite the milestone game from Livingston, the Vikings fell to SLU, 80-64 in their first game of the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout. The Vikings now stand at 2-2 on the young season.

· Three Vikings finished the game in double-digits, led by Ashanti Abshaw with 19 points.
· Khayla Livingston added 18 points, while Olivia Voskuhl chipped in 13.

Khayla Livingston 1,000-Point Tracker
· With 18 points against Saint Louis, Khayla Livingston eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career, finishing the game with 1,003 points. Livingston is the 28th Viking all-time to reach the milestone and the second current Viking to eclipse the mark.

The Game
After trailing by as much as 15 during the first quarter, Cleveland State was able to work its way back into the contest throughout the first half, going into the halftime break trailing by just nine at 40-31.

To start the second half, Cleveland State rattled off two quick baskets from Olivia Voskuhl and Khayla Livingston to come within five points at the 40-35 mark, forcing a Saint Louis timeout just over one minute into the contest. SLU rebounded with a 10-3 run out of the timeout though, regaining a double-digit lead at 50-39.

Over the next 1:20, the Vikings went 3-for-4 from the free throw line to close the gap to eight points at 50-42, but another Billiken run extended Saint Louis' lead once again, as SLU took a 60-48 lead into the final quarter.

The Billikens were then able to hold a sizeable advantage over the final 10 minutes of play, closing out the contest with the 80-64 victory.
