MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Despite a pair of 20-point performances from Ashanti Abshaw and Khayla Livingston, the Cleveland State women's basketball team came up short at Milwaukee Saturday afternoon, falling to the Panthers, 76-72. The Vikings now stand at 12-13 overall this season and 7-7 in Horizon League play.

· With four three-pointers against the Panthers, Khayla Livingston moved into ninth place in the CSU Career Record book with 134 career three-pointers.
· With her 24 points against Milwaukee, Ashanti Abshaw recorded her 11th 20-point game of the season, and finished the game with 979 career points.
· Shadae Bosley recorded just her second double-digit scoring game of the season, finishing with 10 points against the Panthers.
· Shadae Bosley now has 78 career blocked shots, just two blocks shy of becoming the eighth Viking all-time to record 80 blocked shots.
· Cleveland State's .500 clip from the field marked the second time this season that the Vikings shot at least 50-percent from the floor, while the .579 clip from three-point marked a season-best.
The Game
After going into the halftime break with a five-point lead at 37-32, the Vikings were able to extend their advantage to double-digits over the opening minutes of the third quarter. Olivia Voskuhl knocked down a jumper on the opening possession of the frame to put the Vikings up 39-32, and was then able to convert a layup after an Ashanti Abshaw steal to give the Vikings a 41-32 advantage less than one minute into the quarter. Cleveland State then gained a 43-32 lead at the 9:04 mark after Abshaw converted a pair of free throws after grabbing her second steal on as many Milwaukee possessions.
The Panthers responded with a 17-5 run over the next 4:25 though, regaining a 49-48 lead – their first lead since the opening minutes of the second quarter. A Khayla Livingston free throw and an Abshaw three-pointer stopped the Panther run, and put Cleveland State back on top, 52-49 with 3:10 left in the frame.
The two teams then traded baskets over the remaining minutes of the frame, heading into the final quarter all knotted up at 57-57.
The fourth quarter started much as the third frame ended, with both teams trading baskets until a Panther layup and three-pointer gave Milwaukee a 68-63 advantage – an advantage that they wouldn't relinquish for the rest of the contest. The Vikings were able to come within one point at the 1:26 mark after a Livingston three-pointer, but that would be as close as they would get, as Milwaukee came away with the four-point victory.
