The Game
To start the game, Green Bay was able to jump out to a 9-1 advantage just 2:27 into the first quarter, but an 8-0 Cleveland State run – which included a pair of Ashanti Abshaw three-pointers – brought the Vikings back in the contest and put the score at 9-9 midway through the frame. The two teams then traded baskets over the next few possessions, until a 7-0 run from Green Bay put the Phoenix back on top at the 18-11 mark. The two teams then traded baskets throughout the remainder of the frame, putting the score at 23-16 Green Bay after 10 minutes of action.

The second quarter was much of the same, as both teams traded baskets throughout the frame, with Green Bay holding a 34-25 lead at the halftime break.

Over the first part of the third quarter Green Bay was able to extend its lead to 18 points at 46-28, but a Khayla Livingston three-pointer stopped the run, and a 9-2 Viking run of their own brought Cleveland State back within 11 points at 48-37 with 3:10 left in the frame. This would be as close as the Vikings would get though, as Green Bay took a 51-39 lead into the final quarter.

The two teams then had a back-and-forth fourth quarter, but the 11-point Phoenix lead was too much for the Vikings to overcome, as nationally ranked Green Bay came away with the 65-51 victory.
