Livingston Tallies Career-High 28 Points In Victory At Oakland

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Behind a career-high 28-point effort from Khayla Livingston, the Cleveland State women's basketball team picked up its fourth victory out of its last five games with a 74-62 decision at Oakland. With the win, the Vikings improve to 10-8 overall this season and 5-2 in Horizon League play.

Game Stats

The Game
Although the Vikings were able to hold a 13-point advantage at one point during the first half, Cleveland State went into the halftime break leading by just one point at the 33-32 mark.

Cleveland State's slim lead wouldn't last long though, as Oakland opened the third quarter on a 6-0 run, and outscored the Vikings 18-11 over the first part of the frame to gain a 50-44 advantage at the 3:41 mark. The Vikings were able to weather the storm though, and closed the gap to 58-56 by the end of the quarter after a strong offensive surge, including a pair of three-pointers from Chrishna Butler and Olivia Voskuhl.

Despite Oakland converting the first basket of the final quarter to gain a four-point lead at 60-56, Cleveland State responded with an 18-0 run – including a trio of three-pointers from Khayla Livingston – to gain a 74-60 advantage with just 1:31 left on the clock. A strong Viking defense held Oakland to just one field goal during the final eight minutes of the fourth quarter, and just a 16-percent field goal percentage during the final 10 minutes of action.
