Women’s Basketball Falls To Niagara, 67-49

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team continued its three-game homestand Wednesday afternoon, dropping a 67-49 contest against the Niagara Purple Eagles. The Vikings now stand at 1-3 on the season, while Niagara improves to 2-3.

Game Stats
Ashanti Abshaw led the Vikings with 17 points, while Nicolete Newman added nine points.
Ashanti Abshaw also had a team-best eight rebounds, while Olivia Voskuhl grabbed seven boards.
Khayla Livingston tallied a team-high five assists, while Ashanti Abshaw grabbed a team-best four steals. 

Game Notes
• Wednesday's game marked the third double-digit scoring performance from Ashanti Abshaw this season.
• The Vikings have now used the same starting lineup in all four contests during the 2016-17 season.
• Following her eight-rebounds against Niagara, Ashanti Abshaw eclipsed 325 boards for her career, ending the contest with 326.
Khayla Livingston is now just one assist shy of recording 150 for her career, as she currently has 149 after posting five against the Purple Eagles.
