Women’s Basketball Earns No. 3 Seed In Horizon League Tournament

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team has earned the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Horizon League Tournament, and will host sixth-seeded UIC in a quarterfinal contest on Wednesday, March 11. Wednesday's quarterfinal contest is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Wolstein Center on the CSU campus.

Tickets for Wednesday's matchup are just $3.00 and include a lower level ticket, hotdog, and 12 ounce drink. Also, the first 250 fans to purchase a ticket at the Wolstein Center Box Office on Wednesday will receive a free Cleveland State T-Shirt.

Parking for Wednesday's game will be FREE in the South Garage, while spots last.

The Vikings earned the No. 3 seed after finishing with a 10-6 mark in league play throughout the regular season. This marked the first time that CSU finished with double-digit wins in league play since the 2010-11 season, and it is also the first time since 2010-11 that the Vikings have finished the regular season ranked among the top-three league teams.

Cleveland State is currently 13-2 when playing at home this season, including a 7-1 mark in Horizon League play. The Vikings swept the season series against the Flames during the regular season, earning a 75-73 overtime victory in Chicago, and picking up a 58-46 victory over the Flames in Cleveland.

UIC finished the regular season with a 16-13 overall record and a 6-10 mark in league action.

The winner of Wednesday's matchup will advance to the Horizon League Semifinals on Friday (March 13). The semifinals and championship will take place at the highest remaining seed after all quarterfinal games are complete.
