SETTING THE SCENE
The Cleveland State women's basketball team will begin a three-game roadswing on Saturday (Jan. 31), traveling to Oakland for a 3:00 p.m. contest. Saturday's game will kick off a stretch in which six of Cleveland State's next eight games are on the road. Entering the matchup against Oakland, CSU is 11-8 overall this season and 3-3 in Horizon League play, while the Grizzlies are 9-10 overall and also 3-3 in league action. This will be just the fourth meeting between the two teams, with the Vikings still searching for their first victory in the series. 

A WIN SATURDAY WOULD…
Put the Vikings above .500 in Horizon League play…Mark CSU's first victory over Oakland in program history…Give Cleveland State a 5-3 record for the month of January…Give the Vikings consecutive wins for the fourth time this season.

SCOUTING THE GRIZZLIES
Oakland enters Saturday's contest with a 9-10 overall record and a 3-3 mark in Horizon League play…The Grizzlies split their last two contests, picking up an 85-82 victory against Youngstown State and falling to Wright State (108-89)…The Grizzlies own a 6-3 record at home this season…Oakland leads the league in assists (16.3), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.1), defensive rebounds (29.2), and three-point field goals per game (8.3)…The Grizzlies are averaging 71.6 points per game this season - a mark that ranks second among league teams…Olivia Nash leads Oakland offensively and defensively, averaging 14.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

LAST TIME OUT
The Vikings were able to snap a two-game losing skid Thursday evening, as they picked up a 67-58 victory over Milwaukee. CSU held a seven-point lead at the halftime break and was then able to extend its lead to double-digits late in the second half to come away with the nine-point victory. The Vikings outrebounded the Panthers 48-35 - including 18 offensive boards. Cori Coleman (19 points) and Imani Gordon (13) led the Viking offense, while Brooke Smith and Coleman each tallied eight rebounds.

GREEN CLOSING IN ON TOP-20 SCORING LIST
After combining for 230 points so far this season, senior Kiersten Green is closing in on the top-20 career scoring list at CSU, entering Saturday's contest with 1,086 points. Green is just 12 points shy of cracking the top-20, and would join classmates Cori Coleman and Imani Gordon on the list. Green is averaging 12.1 points per game this season - ranking 12th among Horizon League players.

CLEVELAND STATE ON THE BOARDS
The Vikings grabbed a season-high 48 rebounds against Milwaukee last time out, the sixth time that they have notched at least 40 rebounds this season. Included in the 48 rebounds were 18 offensive boards, with the Vikings posting 20 points off of second chance opportunities. On the season, Alexis Eckles has a team-high 134 rebounds, while Imani Gordon has grabbed 129 boards and Cori Coleman has notched 105. 

ECKLES ON THE BLOCK
Alexis Eckles added to her blocked shot total last time out, improving her season total to 31. Eckles, who ranks second in the Horizon League averaging 1.6 blocked shots per game, is just five blocked shots shy of cracking the CSU single-season record list. In addition, Eckles now has the highest amount of career blocks out of all the current Vikings - achieving the mark in just one season of play.

COLEMAN BREAKS CSU THREE-POINT RECORD
Following her five three-pointers at Wright State last Saturday, Cori Coleman became the all-time leading three-point shooter in Cleveland State history, entering Saturday's contest with 191 career three-pointers. Coleman broke the previous record of 190 which was set by Erika Roudebush (1999-03). Coleman now has 39 three-pointers on the season, and is the first current Viking to own a CSU career record.

VIKINGS WITH THE HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
So far this season Cleveland State has been able to take advantage of its home court, owning a 9-2 record while playing at home this season. The Vikings' nine wins at home this season is tied for seventh most in program history, while 13 home wins marks the program record.

SENIOR LEADERSHIP
The Cleveland State senior trio of Cori Coleman (322 pts), Imani Gordon (299), and Kiersten Green (230) has combined for 851 of CSU's 1,349 points so far this season - accounting for 63-percent of CSU's offense. All three seniors are averaging double-digit points so far this season, while they have also combined for a .426 clip from the floor (285-for-669).

COLEMAN CLOSING IN ON 1,300 POINTS, 200 ASSISTS, 200 STEALS
With just five more steals, Cori Coleman would become the fourth Viking all-time with 1,300 points, 200 assists, and 200 steals on their career. Coleman, who enters Saturday's contest with 1,392 points, 201 assists, and 195 steals, would join Viking greats Audra Cook (1996-00), Mahogany Green (1997-01), and Shawnita Garland (2007-11) in the exclusive club. Coleman would also become one of just two current Horizon League players to achieve the feat (Tay'ler Mingo, Wright State).

GORDON MOVES UP SCORING CHART
Following her 13-point effort against Milwaukee - her 17th double-digit performance of the season - Senior Imani Gordon moved up to 19th on the CSU career scoring chart, entering Saturday's contest with 1,107 points. Gordon is the 19th Viking all-time to notch at least 1,100 points on their career and needs just 27 more points to move into 18th place on the list.

…GORDON ON THE REBOUNDING CHARTS
Imani Gordon also continues to improve her standing on the Cleveland State career rebounding charts - entering Saturday's contest ranked 12th with 668 total rebounds, fourth with 454 defensive rebounds, and  eighth with 214 offensive boards. So far this season Gordon is averaging 6.8 rebounds per game, and has recorded double-digit rebounds three times (Ohio, Morehead State & Florida Atlantic).

VIKINGS IN CLOSE GAMES
Throughout 19 games so far this season for the Vikings, 12 have been decided by eight points or less. Cleveland State owns an 8-4 record when games are decided by eight points or less this season, including a 2-1 mark in Horizon League play. In the eight wins, CSU has outscored its opponents 102-88 over the last five minutes of the contest, including a 53-for-69 performance from the free throw line.
