For the first time in Horizon League play, the Vikings got off to a hot start, holding a 20-8 lead midway through the first half. Wright State slowly worked its way back into the game though, and took control over the final minutes, holding an 11-point advantage at the halftime break (39-28).

After the break, Cleveland State opened the second half with seven straight points, and extended this to a 17-7 run over the first part of the second stanza. This run brought the Vikings within one point at 46-45 with 12:48 left on the clock.

This was as close as the Vikings would get though, as Wright State regained a double-digit lead over the next 2:19 and held this advantage for the rest of the contest. The Raider defense was able to hold Cleveland State scoreless for multiple stretches over the final 10 minutes of the contest, as Wright State went on to earn the 17-point victory.

As a team, Cleveland State recorded 17 assists on its 23 made field goals, with Brooke Smith notching a career-high tying six assists and Kiersten Green adding five.

The Vikings will now return home to host Milwaukee on Thursday (Jan. 29) at 7:00 p.m.
