SETTING THE SCENE
The Vikings will begin play in the 2013 Horizon League Tournament Wednesday (March 13), facing Youngstown State in a quarterfinal matchup. Wednesday's contest will begin at 7:05 p.m. at the Beeghly Center on the YSU campus. The Vikings enter the tournament as the No. 7 seed, while YSU is the No. 2 seed in this year's tournament. During regular season play, the Penguins swept CSU as Youngstown State now owns a 34-26 advantage in the all-time series.

VIKINGS IN THE HORIZON LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
Under head coach Kate Peterson Abiad the Vikings are 10-7 in Horizon League Tournament play, and have won five out of their last seven tournament games. Cleveland State has advanced to the championship game twice over the past 10 seasons, earning the title each time (2008 & 2010), while the Vikings have made it to the semifinals four times during that stretch.

...AGAINST YOUNGSTOWN STATE IN THE HL TOURNEY
The Vikings have faced Youngstown State just once in Horizon League Tournament play over the past 10 seasons - earning a 59-56 victory over the Penguins in a first round contest last year. Under current head coach Bob Bolden, the Penguins are 0-3 in tournament play, while they are 1-11 all-time in the Horizon League Tournament - picking up their lone victory during the 2007-08 season.

THIS SEASON VS. YOUNGSTOWN STATE
During the regular season Youngstown State earned a pair of victories over the Vikings; a 72-63 win at CSU and a 73-69 victory in Youngstown. During both contests the Vikings were led offensively by the trio of Shalonda WintonCori Coleman and Kiersten Green who notched double-digit points in both games.

KING CLOSING IN ON CAREER THREE-POINT LIST
Honesty King is closing in on the top-10 career three-point field goals list, entering Wednesday's contest with 119 made three-pointers. King has made at least 30 shots from behind the arc in each of her last three seasons, including a career-high 42 as a sophomore. The senior needs just two more three-pointers to be tied for 10th all-time and would need 10 more to be tied for ninth all-time.

COLEMAN FROM BEHIND THE ARC
With 51 three-pointers so far this season, Cori Coleman is closing in on CSU's single season top-10 list - needing just four more made three-pointers to rank ninth all-time in single season three-pointers. Coleman is averaging 1.9 three-pointers per contest, and has converted at least two shots from behind the arc in 16 games this year, including a career-high five at UIC (Jan. 9).

WINTON CLOSING IN ON SINGLE SEASON SCORING RECORD
Following her 29th double-digit scoring game of the season last Thursday (March 7), Shalonda Winton is closing in on the single season scoring record, entering the Horizon League Tournament with 640 points. Winton became the third Viking to reach 600 points in a single season against Loyola (Feb. 25) - and the first since the 2009-10 season. Winton needs just 15 more points to own the single season scoring record which is currently held by Kailey Klein (654 pts/2007-08).

UP NEXT
The winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal contest will face the winner of No. 3 Loyola vs. No. 6 Milwaukee in the semifinals on Friday, March 15. Friday's semifinal contest will be at top-seeded Green Bay (as long as the Phoenix win their quarterfinal contest) at a time that is to be determined.
