Cleveland State Wrestling Falls to Navy to Conclude the Weekend

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State suffered a 32-7 loss to Navy on Sunday afternoon inside Woodling Gymnasium. With the setback, the Vikings fall to 7-5 on the year and complete the weekend with a 2-1 mark at home.

Navy claimed the early 13-0 advantage behind a 3-1 decision at 125-pounds, 13-4 major decision at 133-pounds, and forfeit at 141-pounds.

No. 30/32 Marcus Robinson got the Vikings on the board with a 16-5 major decision at 149-pounds to trail 13-4. However, Navy got the four points back with a major decision of their own at 157-pounds.

No. 31/33 Riley Smucker won 9-6 at 165-pounds as Cleveland State pulled to within 17-7.

The Midshipmen won the final four matches of the afternoon with two decisions, one tech fall, and a major decision, winning the match, 32-7.

The Vikings went 1-1 in exhibition matches with Joseph Caprella winning 3-1 in overtime.

Alumni Day
