GAME STORY

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland State University wrestling team had the lead at the halfway point, but host Edinboro rallied to claim a 24-13 victory Friday evening in Eastern Wrestling League action inside McComb Fieldhouse.

CSU won three of the first five weight classes, two with bonus points, to open up a 13-7 lead through five bouts.

After losing by decision at 125 pounds to open the night, redshirt senior Armando Torres got the Vikings on the board with a 14-1 win at 133 pounds.

The Fighting Scots returned the favor in the following bout with a 13-point win of their own. True freshman Brady Barnett followed by registering the only pin of the night, as his second-period fall at 149 pounds pushed CSU back into the lead.

Redshirt sophomore Nico O'Dor followed with another CSU win at 157 pounds. He effectively limited his opponents' offense in a 6-1 win.

Edinboro came back by winning each of the final five weight classes to come out on top. Junior Chris Morrow and true freshman Ben Smith each suffered a three-point loss via decision at 184 and 197 pounds, respectively.

Cleveland State resumes action Jan. 27 when it welcomes Bloomsburg in its EWL home opener. The home match against Lock Haven scheduled for Jan. 20 was postponed due to Winter Storm Harper.
