O’Dor & Smith Win Weight Classes At Lock Haven Classic

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Cleveland State wrestling team returned to action at the Lock Haven Classic Saturday, with Nico O'Dor and Ben Smith winning their respective weight classes, and Armando Torres and Dimitri Williams placing second.

O'Dor posted a perfect 3-0 record on the day, winning the 157-pound weight class with an 11-0 major decision, a 4-3 decision and a forfeit win all coming over unattached wrestlers. With his three wins, O'Dor now has 19 on the season, just one-win shy of 20 for the year.

Smith participated at 197 pounds, notching a 3-0 record, including a fall over an unattached wrestler in just over six minutes that put him into the championship match.

Torres competed at 133 pounds, posting a 3-1 record to finish second. With his three wins, Torres eclipsed the 20-win mark for the season, and now has a team-high 22 victories.

Williams finished second at 174 pounds, going 2-1 on the day with a 5-4 decision against an opponent from Old Dominion and a 1-0 decision against an unattached wrestler.

Chase Archangelo (157) and Ryan Ford (165) also had solid performances for the Vikings on Saturday, Archangelo going 2-2 in his weight class, and Ford posting a 4-1 record in his bracket.

The Vikings will get back to dual meet action after the New Year, facing Columbia and George Mason on Thursday, January 10.
