2018-19 Schedule

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State University head wrestling coach Josh Moore announced the program's 2018-19 schedule Thursday.

The slate features 16 duals and six tournaments, including eight total home events.

Tickets for all home events, including the Cleveland State Open, are now on sale and can be purchased by clicking here. Tickets for groups of 10 or more are available for $5 and can be purchased online or by calling (216) 687-5440.

For the second straight season, and the fourth time in five years, Cleveland State will open its season at the Clarion Open, with the event taking place Saturday, Nov. 3.

The Vikings will open dual action the following weekend as they compete in a quad dual hosted by Bucknell. In addition to the host Bison, CSU will face Buffalo and VMI. The meetings against the Bulls and Bison are the first in a decade for CSU.

Five of Cleveland State's next six days of competition will be in tournaments, beginning with the Navy Classic Nov. 17 and the SIUE Invite Dec. 2.

The only exception in that stretch is Sunday, Dec. 9, when the Vikings open their home slate with a dual against Otterbein before making the short trip east to John Carroll later in the day.

Cleveland State will host its annual open Saturday, Dec. 15. The Vikings then open the new year at the Southern Scuffle for the eighth consecutive season. Eight teams among the top 25 from the 2017 NCAA Championships competed at this past season's event.

The Vikings will open Eastern Wrestling League action Thursday, Jan. 10, as part of a tri-dual. CSU travels to conference foe George Mason and will also compete against Columbia in a neutral-site match.

EWL action continues throughout the rest of the month as Cleveland State travels to Rider (Jan. 11) and Edinboro (Jan. 18) before hosting Lock Haven (Jan. 20) and Bloomsburg (Jan. 27).

Cleveland State opens the month of February by welcoming Kent State Friday, Feb. 1, marking the first time the Vikings have hosted the Golden Flashes since the 2010-11 season.

CSU will travel to the Edinboro Open the following day before closing the regular season with four more duals.

The Vikings will close conference action Feb. 8 when they welcome Clarion. Cleveland State will contest its road finale against Michigan State Feb. 10 before hosting Northern Illinois and Binghamton on the final two Saturdays of February.

The Eastern Wrestling League Championships will be hosted by George Mason Saturday, March 9.

The duals with Binghamton, Columbia and Otterbein will be the first such meetings in program history.
