CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State University wrestling team continues Eastern Wrestling League action with its second straight weekend of duals on back-to-back days.

CSU will close out its road dual slate this weekend as it travels to Bloomsburg Friday, Feb. 2, and heads to Lock Haven Saturday, Feb. 3. Friday's dual will commence at 7:00 p.m. with Saturday's action starting at 2:00 p.m.

Live video of both duals will be available for free with links located at the top of this article.

Cleveland State split its pair of matches this past weekend, claiming a 29-18 victory over George Mason before falling, 20-12, to Clarion in a dual that came down to the final bout. CSU won five bouts with bonus points in taking down the Patriots.

Junior Evan Cheek (141), redshirt senior Nick Corba (184) and true freshman Georgio Poullas (165) all went 2-0 during the past week with a bonus-point win.

Along with Poullas, redshirt junior Andrew Coghill (133) and redshirt freshman Ryan Ford (149) both picked up their first-ever EWL dual victory last weekend.

Corba continues to pace the Vikings with 21 wins. He owns an 8-1 mark in dual action this season and has 12 bonus-point wins, including a team-leading seven pins. Last time out, he defeated Greg Bulsak of Clarion in a battle featuring a pair of wrestlers ranked in the NCAA coaches' panel rankings.

Cheek is second on the team with 15 wins, 10 of which have been bonus-point victories. He won via a technical fall shutout and an 8-3 decision this past weekend.

Bloomsburg holds a 24-12-3 advantage in the all-time series between the teams that dates back to the late 1970s. However, the Vikings have claimed wins in each of the past three seasons, two of which came in convincing fashion. CSU won via shutout, 41-0, in the 2015 meeting while the Vikings posted a 35-6 win during their regular-season finale in the teams' last meeting in Pennsylvania. Last year, the Vikings rallied from an early 9-0 deficit to claim a 26-23 victory.

Six of CSU's projected starters own at least one dual win over Bloomsburg in their career. Both Corba and Stark have won each of their past two bouts against the Huskies in regular-season dual action, with Stark twice notching bonus-point victories. Junior John Vaughn also won via major decision against Bloomsburg last season.

Bloomsburg is 4-7 in dual action, with three of its losses coming to nationally ranked foes. Within EWL play, the Huskies own a win over George Mason and suffered setbacks to Edinboro, Lock Haven and Rider. Bloomsburg has won two of its past three duals but dropped a decision to Rider last weekend. Trevor Allard owns a team-leading 22 wins, all at 184 pounds, while Andy Schutz has a 17-6 record at 133 and was listed in the initial NCAA coaches' rankings.

Lock Haven holds a 26-13 advantage in the all-time series between the teams that dates back to the late 1970s. However, the Vikings have claimed wins in two of the past three seasons, winning with 18 points on both occasions. In the last meeting at Lock Haven, the dual was tied entering the final match at 174. The final bout between CSU's Gabe Stark and LHU's Tyler Wood required a sudden-victory session, where Stark pulled out an 8-6 win, thus securing his team's victory in the process.

Stark and Corba both own two dual wins in their careers against Lock Haven while Cheek won via technical fall against his LHU opponent in last season's matchup.

Lock Haven owns a 10-2 dual mark and is ranked 20th in Intermat's most recent dual rankings. LHU's losses came to Oklahoma and to Rider this past weekend. In addition to winning the PSAC Championships, the Bald Eagles own a dual win over No. 11 Rutgers. Five LHU athletes were named in the initial NCAA coaches' rankings, three of which were among the top 15. Chance Marsteller tops that group as he is 32-1 at 165 pounds and is ranked fourth this week by Intermat.

Cleveland State will close EWL action on the third weekend of February with a home matchup against Edinboro.
