Corba Enters Intermat’s Top 20 Rankings

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Redshirt junior Nick Corba of the Cleveland State University wrestling team was listed among the top 20 athletes in his weight class in Intermat's weekly rankings released Tuesday.

Corba took the 20th position at 184 pounds in Intermat's latest rankings.

His ascension up the rankings comes one week after he was named Eastern Wrestling League Co-Wrestler of the Week. Corba ended his regular season by going 2-0 at the tri-dual that the Vikings hosted, including claiming a win over Hunter Gamble of Gardner-Webb, an opponent who was ranked among the top 20 by multiple outlets.

Corba is 21-7 on the season, and he has 13 bonus-point victories. He has won nine of his last 10 matches, all of which have come against Division I foes. In the most recent RPI released by the NCAA, Corba was ranked 19th at his weight class.

Corba is one of two EWL athletes listed in Intermat's rankings in advance of this week's EWL Championships. Bloomsburg is hosting this year's event this Saturday, March 4.
