EDINBORO, Pa. - The Cleveland State University wrestling team dropped its road finale to nationally ranked Edinboro, 46-2, in Eastern Wrestling League action Friday evening inside McComb Fieldhouse.

With the win, Edinboro extended its EWL dual winning streak to 23, as they finished the League unbeaten for the fourth consecutive season.

Sophomore Evan Cheek picked up the Vikings' lone win Friday, moving his season record to 21-9. He is now 4-1 in EWL contests on the season.

After dropping the first two bouts of the dual, Cheek was able to get Cleveland State on the board. He used an escape in the second period to take a 1-0 lead and was able to keep his opponent from getting any points to hold on to the shutout.

Redshirt freshman Ryan Montgomery competed in a dual for the first time in his collegiate career. He trailed only, 2-0, near the middle of the second period before his opponent, Chase Delande, was able to secure a pin.

Redshirt junior Nick Corba had a scoreless first period in his bout at 184 pounds, but his opponent was able to notch three points in the second period and was able to hold on for a win via decision. The setback ended Corba's six-match winning streak.

Redshirt sophomore Andrew Coghill made his first collegiate appearance in a dual, but he fell via major decision at 133 pounds.

Cleveland State will return home to conclude EWL action this Sunday, Feb. 12, when it hosts Clarion at 2:00 p.m.
