CLEVELAND, OH - Cleveland State hosted to Indiana University for their first home dual meet of the season. Cleveland State won 24-13.
Ben Willeford added another win on the season after Indiana forfeited their 125 lb. wrestler. Dan King followed with a win against Alonzo Shepherd, 5-0. Mike Carlone won the 141 weight division with a 6-4 victory over Joe Duca. Nick Montgomery defeated Trevor Moody in the final seconds of the match to win 8-5. LaTrell Davis (7-6), Xavier Dye (10-5), and Riley Shaw (2-0) also won their matches to help lead the Vikings to victory.
"I am happy with the way our guys wrestled. They were prepared and battled throughout the meet. I look forward to move on and continue the season," said Coach Stehura following the meet.
This is the EWL's fourth win over the Big Ten this year.
The Vikings will move on to the Southern Scuffle (Jan. 1-2) in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Events will begin at 9 a.m. each morning.
